How to Make a Goat Cheese Appetizer

You’ll wonder how a recipe with only 4 ingredients, that can be whipped up in less than 20 minutes, can taste so good and look so elegant! Your friends will think you’re oh-so-fancy 🙂

While entertaining guests recently for our supper club, I was surprised to see the kids gobbling them up! See, they do please just about everyone!

This recipe is as simple as thawing and rolling out your puff pastry. Then using a 2-inch cookie cutter or biscuit cutter, and cutting rounds in the dough.

Puff pastry dough laid out with a rolling pin and flour.

After you cut the rounds, you transfer them to a parchment-lined cookie sheet, press down the center so they don’t puff too much, place some goat cheese in the center and bake.

Once they’re out of the oven, drizzle with honey and a sprig of thyme and you’re done and ready to serve!

These make the best holiday appetizer when garnished with that fresh thyme!

Tips for Making Goat Cheese and Honey Bites

  • This recipe can be halved for a small party. Use just 1 sheet of dough.
  • Don’t forget to push the center of each round down. If you don’t, the pastry will puff up and you may lose your cheese!
  • These bites are best served warm out of the oven, so plan accordingly.
  • Although we haven’t tried it, readers substitute feta cheese with good results.
